OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer)
OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) is a manufacturer that produces goods to be sold under another company’s brand. In palm leaf B2B procurement, OEM refers to private-label manufacturing — Ecodyne or another manufacturer producing under the importer’s brand with custom packaging, custom embossing where applicable, and bespoke SKU specification. Distinct from white-label (which involves less customisation).
In B2B context
OEM arrangements are the deepest tier of palm leaf B2B partnership. The importer brings the product specification (SKU shape, dimensions, embossing design, packaging artwork, certification requirements), the manufacturer brings the production capacity. Ecodyne’s 6,500 CNC dye moulds support fast die changeover for OEM SKU specification — typical new-die lead time is 4–6 weeks from technical drawing approval to first production batch.
For Ecodyne, OEM customers represent the highest-value commercial relationships across the export base. The 15-year OEM track record covers SKU specifications for German wholesalers (deep-rim oval platters, square compartment trays), French private-label retail (heart-shape cake plates, embossed branding), Israeli HoReCa chains (kosher-channel compliant SKUs), and Australian event suppliers (wedding-specific platter sets). Annual repeat-order rates on OEM contracts run above 90%.
