OK Compost Home
OK Compost Home is a TÜV Austria certification for materials proven to compost in home (ambient-temperature) conditions. Stricter than EN 13432, which covers industrial composting only. Tests at 20–30 °C over 12 months. Required for "home compostable" claims in France and increasingly across the EU under Loi AGEC and similar national rules.
In B2B context
Home-compostability claims are heavily regulated in France under Loi AGEC and subject to growing scrutiny across the EU. OK Compost Home is the recognised third-party mark — claims without it risk consumer-protection enforcement. Palm leaf, being uncoated natural fibre, breaks down at ambient temperatures and is in principle eligible; the certification process requires submission to TÜV Austria with sample units and full disclosure of any coatings or additives. Most palm leaf B2B contracts rely on EN 13432 plus inherent biodegradability narrative rather than the more expensive OK Home test.
